Update

Wow. I can't believe how long it's been since I updated this blog. So sorry! School and volunteering and finding new things to do has been taking up a lot of my time.

Anyways, I just wanted to give you an update on what I'm currently doing.

I applied for Calabasas VolunTEENS (kudos for the awesome name!). Basically, it's a group of 40 teens that volunteer in the city. We help out at city hall, camps, classes, the library, and other random places. The program starts in summer, so I'll keep you posted.

Oak Park is having a day called Big Sunday in May and it's just a big day where people can get community service. We help out at local businesses, help community members out with random things, etc. I'll tell you all about it after the event.

I am also trying to popularize my business, Artists Garden, by hosting a year of love. We are sending free cards to charities, sending some of our proceeds to charity, donating stuff, it's pretty awesome!

Well, I think that's all for now. Peace out!

Calendar Overload!

Hey guys!

My calendar just got a whole lot of new additions. Lets start with the Calabasas library. I have a Teen Library Council volunteers meeting tomorrow night at seven. The Fun Fair is coming up and we still have a lot of work to do for the event. Then, for the next four Wednesdays after that, we have Winter Programming from 3:30 to 5:30. Basically, they are just going to be hour long events for the elementary school students. I am not even sure what those events are!
The Oak Park library has some stuff coming up too. Wii day is next Monday. I also have to keep up with the 2+ hours a week. More on that in my OP library blog.
I also found a foundation called Color a Smile. You just download coloring pages, color them, and send them back to the foundation. They then distribute them to Meals on Wheels receivers, among others. I can't wait to start!

Hey There!

Welcome to my blog. Basically, this is a journal of the volunteer work I do in my community. You can use this blog to get ideas, see how to start out, or just for something to read when you get bored. ^-^
I was inspired to start this blog by the wonderful librarians at the Oak Park library. I volunteer there and they have us write blogs about our volunteer jobs there. Since that is not the only place I volunteer, I decided to create another blog for my general volunteer work.
That being said, you won't see a lot of my Oak Park library work on here. I'll touch on it lightly if we have a special event or memorable day, but if you want more specific information on my library work then you can check out my other blog. There is a link in the side bar, right over there ->.
I hope you return to check out my volunteer jobs. Until then, adieu!
